sj armstrong is a full time traveller and freelance journalist from london. she has spent six+ years full time travelling, writing stories from six continents and more than 100 countries.

she writes for outlets including national geographic traveller, wanderlust, the independent, the telegraph and many more. she previously worked as a project editor at apl media, commissioning for ngt, postcards, and more.

she currently writes daily travel stories for islands magazine via static media and is open to destination-based pitches from pr professionals seeking to appeal to a large north american readership.

she holds a masters degree in postcolonialism, centred on modes of imperial rhetoric in contemporary travel journalism, building on undergraduate studies in middle eastern history and literature.
